Its been an action packed month of fights in November…

This November has held some of the most action packed, and memorable fights. Not only was it a good month for MMA, but boxing also showcased its great fighters in the welterweight division, with the 12th round KO win by Manny Pacquaio over Miguel Cotto. This hopefully leads Manny to fight Floyd Mayweather in a future bout, to fight for supremacy over the pound-for-pound title of this era.

In MMA, there never been a more eventful month, with all events from all major organizations holding events, all with heavily stacked cards. In the UFC, there was UFC 105: Couture vs Vera, in a 3 round war, as well Dan Hardy showing Mice Swick why he is the No.1 contender to St. Pierres title. Michael Bisping showed all of us, as well as Dennis Khang, that he can comeback from a brutal defeat, and still is a contendor in the Miidleweight Division. More recently, UFC 106: Ortiz vs Griffin II, Forrest showed that he also can avenge the back to back losses, to win over Ortiz in their secind match.  Josh Koschek stopped the Rumble of Anthony Johnson, as well as Little Nog (Rogierio Noguera) making his UFC debut in spectacular fashion, with the KO of the night over Luis Cane. There were many other great fights on this card, and not to mention, the ongoing airing of TUF Season 10, which comes to a close in a couple of weeks.

Perhaps the loudest buzz, as well as SHOT in November, was the KO heard around the world, when the Last Emperor, Fedor Emelianenko stopped Brett Rogers in the Strikeforce event: Fedor vs Rogers. Gegard Mousasi, who is one of my favourite fighters, defeating Sokodjou in this card as well. He is definitely one of MMA’s most underrated fighters, with a great future ahead. This Strikeforce card held many other great fights, including Werdum, Big Foot Silva, Jake Shields, and the colourful Jason Mayhem Miller. Strikeforce Challengers also aired this month, with Tyron Woodley defeating Rudy Bears. The Vera couple got their revenge, with Kerry Vera, Brandon’s wife, took out Kim Couture in another bout on that card.

For those who follow WEC, Jose Aldo won the 145pound title off Mike Brown, in WEC 44: Aldo vs Brown. And also, Sengoku 11 was on in Japan this month as well, which featured MMA vetarans Kevin Randleman, and Jorge Santiago.

After an exciting fight month, I too, took in into my hands to get into the spirit, by purchasing a “Silver Star” GSP tee, pictured below…

I also found this great MMA tribute, which sums up the great sport since its existance. This definitely brings back memories, and highlights the significant moments in MMA. Enjoy…

MUFTEE showcases on “Balitang Australia” by Ms Krisanne Alcantara

While I am constantly working on updating the website with more and more products, there has been some behind the scenes advertising, marketing and promotions work, to further spread the word about ‘muftee‘. Muftee is undergoing a positive shift in public image, brand placement in the market, and entering into uncharted waters as of late, all to improve and innovate the brand to catapult it into the next stage of the business. This particular news piece, aired on international cable television station ABS-CBN on October 17th 2009, displays the beginnings of muftee in our Orange Grove Location. It also points out that muftee was created in the midst of the global economic crisis, and managed to slowly succeed through these times, and defy the odds of survival in retail small business. With this story, not only comes publicity, but brings hope, and provides me with more determination to turn muftee into a success story.

Muftee would like to thank the talented Broadcast Journalist Ms Krisanne Alcantara for covering this story, on behalf of ABS-CBN.

Hope you enjoy, and I apologize for the bad audio, as I will replace this copy as soon as I receive a better copy. *Just turn up the volume…

For the love of the Fight Game

Personally, I am a huge fan of the MMA sport. I think it will be one of the biggest sports in the next 5-10 years. Having followed it for several years, tracing back to the days of UFC 1, with legendary Royce Gracie setting the standard for BJJ and its use in the game. Since then, the sport has evolved faster than any other. From the days of No-Holds Barred, to its current 3-5 round format, and other variations used worldwide, MMA is now a sport to be reckoned with. It is truly a game of discipline, skill and technique, and there are many masters of their own craft.

For those fans out there, I’m sure you’d recognize the influence MMA has on the globe, and will definitely recognize these following fight gear brands. For every sport, they need sponsors. The boom in the ’Fight Gear’ Market came along with the valuable air time in which MMA has received over the past several years . These are just some of my favourites…
